Music Bingo
Join us for MINGO at Hay Camp Brewery on Friday, April 26th! What is MINGO? It's like BINGO but instead of numbers on the cards, each box has a song title in it. We play 45-60 seconds of a song, and you have to identify it and see if you have it on your card. If you do, put a chip on it, and 5 in a row (just like bingo) is a Mingo! Each Mingo will win a prize. Come for the entire night or just when you can!

STEAM Cafe
Join us for the STEAM Café this month! April’s STEAM talk, “From Jaws to Wall-E: The Pop Culture Narratives Reflecting Humanity’s Anxieties Around Nature”, will be presented Dr. Christy Tidwell, professor in the Department of Humanities, Arts, and Social Sciences at South Dakota Mines.
Science fiction and horror movies frequently reflect – and sometimes shape – our cultural anxieties about nature. As we work to respond to contemporary environmental issues such as pollution and mass extinction, these pop culture narratives take up such issues both directly and indirectly – for example, monstrous animals attacking humans (Jaws), the dangers of isolated spaces (Texas Chainsaw Massacre), the potential consequences of pollution (Wall-E) or resource extraction and use (Mad Max). Other science fiction/horror films illustrate audiences' anxieties about confusing the lines between human and nonhuman (The Fly). Dr. Christy Tidwell, professor in the Department of Humanities, Arts, and Social Sciences at South Dakota Mines, will discuss how these fears of and for nature play a complicated role in our cultural response to environmental threats, sometimes creating more distance from the natural world, sometimes creating sympathy for it, and sometimes prompting reflection on our own place in it.

We are rocking into our 11th year of brewing beer! We are celebrating by cranking it up to 11 with our friends at Black Hills Vinyl. They will be spinning records from the decades like you've heard before. We will have a new beer release that day and and some totally radical good times. The needle drops at 4 o'clock
Free Pinball Friday
Attention all ages and skill levels! Join us every Friday for a free social pinball 2 hour session. Meet the staff of Hay Camp Brewing Company and Heroes & Villains. Connect with other local pinball enthusiasts. Have a beer (or root beer). Buy a comic or video game. Our goal is to build the pinball community while getting to socialize with staff. We have 2 machines in Heroes & Villains and 2 Machines in Hay Camp Brewery. Whether you never played or are a season veteran come spend a couple hours with us every Friday for some family friendly pinball!
Trivia Night / Kolsch Service
Serving Ritual: In traditional Kölsch serving establishments, servers known as "Köbes" move around the pub or beer hall with trays containing multiple glasses of Kölsch. They often serve the beer directly from the tray, replacing empty glasses with freshly poured ones without needing to ask. This continuous service is part of the experience and adds to the convivial atmosphere of the beer halls.
Kölsch is typically served in small, cylindrical glasses known as "Stange" glasses. These glasses are narrow and tall, holding around 0.2 liters of beer. The size of the glass allows for the beer to be consumed while it's still cold and fresh.
Marking the Consumption: Kölsch servers mark your coaster to keep track of how many glasses you've consumed. Each mark represents a glass of beer consumed, and your bill is calculated based on the number of marks at the end of your visit.

1st Annual Hay Camp Chili Challenge
Guidance for the Chefs
Category 1: Traditional chili
No vegetables only meat, seasonings and stock.
Category 2: Midwestern chili
Includes vegetables, beans etc. along with meat, seasonings and stock
Contestant check in: 1:30 pm-judging 2 pm.
Please bring your hot chili in a crockpot or similar vessel.
Each category to be judged by the Bashful Bison Sandwich Shop, Market and Catering, opening soon in the Hay Camp Commons.
Suggested chili volume for the challenge: 2 lbs meat/protein to allow for judging and general sampling by all.
Sides critical to the taste profile of your chili such as sour cream, cheese etc. are OK and welcome.
Cornbread side will be supplied by Hay Camp as will bowls, spoons, napkins etc.
