Visit Hay Camp Brewing
You're a few blocks from the heart of downtown Rapid City and a short drive from some of the most-visited landmarks in the United States. Whether you're stopping in after Mount Rushmore, rolling through during the Sturgis Rally, or making a long weekend out of the Black Hills, Hay Camp is a great place to land for a pint, a meal from the Bashful Bison, and a sense of how this corner of South Dakota actually lives.

What kind of beer does Hay Camp make?
We make a little bit of everything. Crisp lagers, hazy IPAs, kettle sours, dark stouts, barrel-aged stuff. What ties it all together is the approach: every beer is brewed true to style, in small batches, on our seven-barrel brewhouse. Eight core beers stay on year-round, with seasonals and one-offs filling out the rest of the board. If you drink beer, you'll find something you like.
Is there outdoor seating?
Yes. Our patio is open during the summer season (weather permitting) — a relaxed spot for a flight or a pint after a day in the Hills.
Is Hay Camp kid-friendly?
Hay Camp is a family-friendly taproom — kids are welcome any time we're open. We have our own homebrewed sodas, Italian sodas, and several pinball machines.
Where should I park?
There is free on-street parking along Kansas City Street and the surrounding downtown blocks. The City of Rapid City also operates several public parking lots and structures within a few blocks.
Do you serve food?
Yes. The Bashful Bison Deli & Market is our in-house eatery, located in our Mothership Commons space. They serve locally sourced sandwiches, sides, snacks, and grab-and-go groceries. Bashful Bison food pairs directly with the taproom's core beers and rotating specials.
Can I host an event at Hay Camp?
Yes, our 3,000 square-foot event space seats 120 and stands 250. We've hosted weddings, grad parties, business conferences, holiday parties, concerts, and more. See the Event Booking page for the inquiry form.
What about live events and weekly programming?
The taproom runs a steady weekly schedule of Trivia Night, Karaoke, Free Pinball Friday, and the monthly STEAM Cafe, plus one-off shows and community events. The full calendar lives on the Upcoming Events page.
